Project Update - May 2, 2024

This is the latest construction update on the three subregional organics processing and receiving facilities.

Central Site Progress

  • Pre-substantial completion inspection conducted on April 23 by Jim Maletta and Brian De Paoli with RDEK electrical & pipe installation subcontractor Up2Par Electrical and General Services
  • RDEK subcontractor have completed all processing line air distribution piping, the air distribution blowers and systems were successfully tested
  • Blower electrical demand tested on a cloudy day (April 26 to determine is solar off grid system could sustain all blowers working simultaneously. 15-minute test revealed the energy production was sufficient for electrical demand with no significant battery draw down
  • Wireless temperature probes were shipped on Friday April 26 from San Diego California

Columbia Valley Site Progress

  • Pre-substantial completion inspection conducted on April 24 by Jim Maletta and Brian De Paoli with RDEK electrical & pipe installation subcontractor Up2Par Electrical and General Services
  • RDEK subcontractor have completed all processing line air distribution piping, the air distribution blowers and systems were successfully tested
  • Wireless temperature probes are en route from San Diego California.
  • Grinder mixer delivery to site expected within 10 days

Elk Valley Site Progress

  • Pre-substantial completion inspection conducted on April 25 by Jim Maletta and Brian De Paoli with RDEK electrical & pipe installation subcontractor Up2Par Electrical and General Services
  • RDEK subcontractor have completed all processing line air distribution piping, the air distribution blowers and systems were successfully tested
  • Wireless temperature probes are en route from San Diego California.
  • Grinder mixer delivery to site expected by the end of May or early June

Planned Work for Next Progress Period

  • Modem with SIM card and antenna installation for Invermere and Sparwood
  • ReoTemp computer system portion of temperature monitoring system to each site
  • Grinder/Mixer delivery to Invermere site
  • Most site deficiencies from pre-substantial completion inspection to addressed by the end of May
