Here is the latest update on constructin progress for the three organics receiving facilities:

Central Site Progress

  • The solar panels and array frames are installed, and we are awaiting arrival of the generator.
  • The Grinder/Mixer has been ordered.
  • Although the concrete receiving pad was poured, there were issues with the finished due to seasonal weather impacts. The pad will be replaced in the spring of 2024; however, the site will be able to open later in 2023 as planend.

Columbia Valley Site Progress

  • The BC Hydro electrical supply design remains in process.
  • The Grinder/Mixer is in the process of being ordered and is anticipated to arrive late in 2023 or early 2024.
  • The concrete receiving pad was completed on November 14.
  • Work will now be done on the asphalt pad shouldering and BC Hydro secondary pole alignment.

Elk Valley Site Progress

  • The BC Hydro electrical supply design remains in process.
  • The Grinder/Mixer is in the process of being ordered and is anticipated to arrive late in 2023 or early 2024.

Planned Work for Next Progress Period

  • Completion of the Sparwood concrete receiving pad
  • Work on electrical, blower unit installation and temperature probes for all sites.
  • Lock block walls for Sparwood and Invermere
  • Gravel shouldering around asphalt pads all sites
